As I said in my post there, I believe the way the two approached the rut is due to the shape difference. The compact nature of the Wrangler predisposes it to be ideal for tight terrain, but that also gives it less surface area to disperse its weight in sandy/muddy/watery areas. The Rovers on the other hand, with their wide wheel base, will excel in terrain that benefit from a wider wheel base and will struggle more frequently in tighter deeper terrains; if all things are equal mechanically that is. There seems to be many videos of this nature where one side of the debate will put a version of the opposing brand into their video that does not have the proper set up to tackle the terrain to 'prove' their's is 'better' |

I personally choose vehicles based on what I like about them, not what other people say about them. I mean I can make a Chevy Luv perform as well as anything we see in these video's if I wanted to. Cracked actually made a recent article that pertains to this fanboy mentality. Of course they are referring to the Xbox/PS4 saga but the same concept can be applied to anything, especially the ongoing Land Rover/Jeep feud.
That is basically what I was getting on about. Most vehicles that are touted as 4 wheel drive will do what most people want them to do. Some will have niches, but they all will go where they can go and if not, that is why you put a wench on the front end and a tow hook on the back |

there is also a Jeep bumper sticker that says, "If you can read this flip me over" LOL!
